I finally picked up one of her books, Angel Falls. I spent an entire Saturday alternating between writing a few paragraphs of a huge paper and rewarding myself for each bit of incremental progress by reading a couple chapters of this book. Every time I started to feel weary from school work, I was transported back to the world of Angel Falls, where a devastated Liam sat devotedly by the bedside of his comatose wife only to learn of a secret past marriage of hers to a certain gorgeous celebrity – a man he’ll have to consider allowing into his life to bring his wife back. Oh, the drama! But this drama and power- of- love stuff got me through that day.

This story about a feral 6- year- old who appears to have grown up in the woods and her relationship with the child psychiatrist who tries to bring this child out of her shell made my heart swell and took about a few gazillion tears from me. As in all her books, Hannah drew me in with the combination of her characters and story. I wanted to reach my arms into the story and hug that little girl! Ironically, one of the books that I disliked the most (and the dislike was strong) happens to be part ONE of a book in which the second part would make it one of the ones that would vie for my favorite!! The first half of the story was boring and felt contrived and dragged on for way too long. I mean, it could easily have been 1.
